WEEK #2 NORTH TONAWANDA VS CLARENCE
North Tonawanda suffered their 2nd straight loss in another non-league game at Clarence on Saturday. It was a very disappointing loss as the Jacks were up most of the game. Aaron Davis put the Lumberjacks up 7-0 early in the game with a 40 yard interception return for a touchdown. The game got offensive in the second quarter as the two teams put up a combined 29 points. Keith Bogdan scored on a 1 yard QB sneak and Ryan Hawkins had a 53 yard td with 48 seconds left in the half. The Offense would be shut out in the second half and Clarence hit a long pass early in the 4th quarter. The Jacks had their chances as they drove the ball down into Clarence's side of the field twice in the fourth quarter. The would be stopped on downs on both occasions. The Red Devils prevailed 23-20. The good news for the NT boys is that their divisional record is still unblemished. A win this week against a very talented Niagara Wheatfield would give the Jacks good position for a playoff run. The Jacks will host the Falcons this Friday night at 7 pm. It ought to be a great crowd for what should amount to a very good football game.
