WEEK #7 NT 41 VS LOCKPORT 13
Week number seven found the Lumberjacks looking to take sole possession of the division for the 6th time in the last 7 years. They were taking on the Lions from Lockport who had only one loss is the division. A win for the Jacks would clinch the #1 seed in the playoffs and a loss could have sent them to the #2 seed. The Jacks were hungry for a win, a home playoff game, and a league championship coat. N.T. would prove their dominance in a very quick fashion, jumping out to a 21-6 lead in the first quarter. Jr. FB Jeff Zellner got the ball rolling taking the first 2 carries 68 yards for the first score of the game. N.T. would run the ball effectively all night. Sr. QB Keith Bogdan and Ryan Hawkins would score twice apiece for the Jacks, will Soph. WR Aaron Davis made a highlight catch on a 45 yard reception for a TD. The Jacks defense was very stingy all night long. They held Lockport's premier running back to 68 yards on 17 carries. Sr. LB Martin Doty led the charge with 12 tackles and 2 huge "sticks". With the win, NT assumes their normal position of league champions. They outscored their league competition 203 to 40 over the course of 5 games. The Jacks will host the annual TNT game Friday night at 6pm and next Friday will host Lancaster in the first round of the sectional playoffs. It should be an exciting run for the Jacks as they continue to improve as the season progresses.
